20 Inch Big Blue PP Sediment Filter – 1 Micron Fine Particle Removal
The 20 inch Big Blue polypropylene sediment filter (1 micron) is a melt-blown depth cartridge designed for superior sediment removal in residential, commercial, and industrial water filtration systems. Constructed from 100 % polypropylene (PP) media, this filter effectively captures extremely fine particles such as sand, silt, rust, and other suspended solids down to 1 micron, preventing clogging and extending the life of downstream filters. Its Big Blue (4.5″ diameter) format ensures higher dirt-holding capacity and longer service life compared with standard cartridges. Replace every 4–12 months depending on water quality and flow. Compatible with all standard 20″ BB housings and ideal as pre-filtration for reverse osmosis, softeners, and RO/UV systems.
Sizing Guide
- Whole House Filtration: 20″ Big Blue preferred for high flow and longer service life.
- Micron Selection:
· 1 micron: Fine sediment, high clarity requirement.
· 5–10 micron: General pre-filtration with less pressure drop.
· Lowers flow? If pressure drop is significant, consider pre-filters (e.g., 5 micron first).
Timing Recommendations
| Water Condition | Recommended Change Interval |
| Light sediment | ~9–12 months |
| Moderate sediment | ~6–9 months |
| Heavy sediment / well water | ~4–6 months |
