Runxin F63P3 Automatic Softener Valve
The Runxin F63P3 automatic softener valve is a dual-mode control valve designed to automate full regeneration cycles in residential water softening systems. The valve incorporates both timer-based and volume (demand)-based regeneration logic, providing flexibility to match household usage patterns.
The F63P3 manages all standard softener stages — service, backwash, brine draw, slow rinse, fast rinse, brine refill, and return to service — with control logic designed to optimise operation and reduce the need for manual intervention.
Ideal for standard residential softener installations, this valve is mounted on top of typical softener resin tanks and pairs with a brine tank to deliver softened water with consistent performance. An integrated LED display provides operational status, and programmable settings allow the homeowner or installer to define regeneration parameters
📐 Softener Tank Sizing Guide
Selecting the right softener tank size ensures efficient resin capacity and appropriate regeneration frequency.
Common Sizing Guide (Residential)
| Household Size | Approx Daily Water Use | Suggested Tank Diameter |
| 1–2 people | ~225–450 L/day | 6″–8″ |
| 3–4 people | ~450–900 L/day | 8″–10″ |
| 5+ people | ~900 L+/day | 10″–12″ |
Sizing Considerations
- Water hardness: Higher hardness requires more resin volume.
- Tank diameter: Larger tanks hold more resin, reducing regeneration frequency.
- Peak flow: Ensure tank and valve sizing supports peak household demand.
🕒 Regeneration Timing Recommendations
Because the F63P3 supports both timer and volume regeneration control, there are two common strategies:
Timer-Based Regeneration (Elapsed Time)
| Usage Pattern | Suggested Interval |
| Low or moderate usage | 3–5 days |
| Moderate usage | 2–3 days |
| High usage or hard water | 1–2 days |
Volume-Based Regeneration (Water Volume)
| Water Hardness Level | Suggested Volume Before Regeneration |
| Mild hardness | ~4 000–6 000 L |
| Moderate hardness | ~3 000–4 500 L |
| High hardness | ~2 000–3 000 L |
Notes
- Volume regeneration is effective when usage varies day to day.
- Combining volume triggers with a maximum time limit can ensure regeneration occurs even if volume thresholds aren’t reached within a set period.
📌 Practical Installation Advice
- Choose an appropriate resin tank based on water hardness and household size.
- Verify connection sizes (1″ inlet/outlet, ½″ drain, ⅜″ brine) before installation.
- Set initial regeneration parameters using volume or timer modes based on typical usage.
- Monitor the first few cycles to adjust settings for water softness and salt use.
- Professional installation is recommended if unfamiliar with softener plumbing or programming.
